CRIMINAL LAW
The Criminal Law is the law of a state or country dealing with criminal offenses and their punishment. In this area of practice, the firm offers comprehensive legal counsel pertaining to all phases of criminal judicial process. Apart from the UAE Penal Code (Federal Law No. 3 of 1987 as amended by Federal Law No. 34 of 2005), which specifies the offences and punishments, there are other statutory violations stipulated in various other laws for which the violators can be prosecuted. The Public Prosecution is given the exclusive authority to submit and proceed with criminal action by the UAE Penal Procedures Law (No. 36 of 1992).

Whoever, on bad faith, issues a cheque without sufficient withdrawable cover, or if he withdraws, after issuing the cheque, all or part of the said cover, or if he withdraws, after issuing the cheque, all or part of the said cover such that the balance shall not be sufficient to meet the cheque value, or if he orders the drawee to abstain from encashing it or if he had deliberately issued or signed it in a manner which prevents encashment thereof, shall be punished with imprisonment or a fine. Article 401 (a) the Penal Code , Federal Law No. 3 of 1987 as Amended by Federal Law no. (34) of 2005.
