Whoever, on bad faith, issues a cheque without sufficient withdrawable cover, or if he withdraws, after issuing the cheque, all or part of the said cover, or if he withdraws, after issuing the cheque, all or part of the said cover such that the balance shall not be sufficient to meet the cheque value, or if he orders the drawee to abstain from encashing it or if he had deliberately issued or signed it in a manner which prevents encashment thereof, shall be punished with imprisonment or a fine.
